Slidell’s creative walking parade was founded in 1984 as the Carnival Krewe Mona Lisa and MoonPie, celebrating the season in Olde Towne Slidell. Transformed in 2018 as Mona Fest, the event featured costumed marchers, dancing clubs, brass bands, and an eclectic mix of grocery carts, bicycles and rickshaws, as well as their signature throw, the MoonPie. This year’s route begins and ends at KY’s in Olde Towne Slidell, marching from Robert St. along Cleveland, Second, Erlanger and First, and ends at the 200 block of Carey Street with a free street party. https://monalisaandmoonpie.com/
