The celebration starts off with a parade through town starting at the Maritime Museum and ending at the Riverfront in front of Town Hall. Families, groups, bands and kids with decorated bikes are all invited to be in the parade (prize for best decorated bike!). Other highlights include DJ music, games, a Winner-Take-All horseshoe tournament, and the Miss Madisonville Beauty Pageant for girls ages 4-10. Fest food includes hot-dogs, corn-on-the-cob and a variety of down-home delights including a watermelon eating contest. Fireworks begin just after dark.
